Can you bring canned pet food in a suitcase?

Hello community-

This question feels like an eye-roller, but I have tried a few times to make cat food from butcher meat and it was rejected, and my cat has reactions to a majority of proteins.

So I'm thinking that for my IBD elderly cat, it's prudent for us to bring some cans and hopefully gradually transition her to homemade food.

I learned that you can't ocean-freight food items, and unaccompanied air-frieght sounds cost-prohibitive.

So I'd love to hear of anyone's efforts to bring canned pet food in their suitcases, as google didn't have much to tell me.

For anyone who is preparing cat food, can you get the taurine supplements in CR, or is it better to bring that from the states?

Thank you!

Yes no probem with cans of pet food in your luggage. There are also vets and specialty pet shops in San Mateo and Orotina that carry all different kinds of special diet pet food but it is pricy!
